OUR BORACAY HAPPY MOMENTS WAY BACK

THE BORACAY DESTINATION that you can afford
Opened on October 2003, the Boracay Courtyard Beach Resort is the Boracay destination of choice of travel agencies because it offers the best alternative for the budget-conscious vacationer.  It is centrally located at Station 2 with a minute walk to the beach.

There's Barkada package available that can accommodate from 4 to 6 persons in a room.

(It's actually year 2003 before the hotel grand opening.  This page I made just recently that I forgot the exact year of our visit)

Another resort hotel was built.  La Carmela de Boracay is the sister resort hotel of Boracay Courtyard.  It is also located in Station 2.  It also offers affordable rates.  It serves breakfast, lunch and dinner at very affordable prices.  Both are owned by Samuel "Boy" So.  We went back after two years.  Thanks to Mr. Boy So for the free accommodation.
I wanted to try digital scrapbooking online but there's something that hold me back.  If I divert my creativity in online scrapbooking, what happened to the stocked photos I keep on the file?  It will be forever untouched.  So, I continue doing hands on scrapbooking. Doing cut-paste process is a fun for me.
After my first visit in the island of Boracay, I made a photo album of it.  Here's some of the pages:

This is somewhat a fun journey I wrote while we travel          It's the Boracay sand I brought home!
from the bus terminal until we arrived in Caticlan Jetty
Port Terminal.

That's the bus tickets!                                                                              my officemates :-)

a couple souvenir shots...                                                                          That's me way back 2003

It's actually called Willy's Rock :-)                                                 We were watching the Boracay sunset.

My bestfriend forever Marigold.                                                       Sanburn?  Yes!

The last shots!

I am working the second photo scrapbook.

I seldom meet my former officemates nowadays but these photos remind me of our Boracay happy moments and fun together.  I treasure these photos as much as I treasure the people on it.

DEAR JOHN

Do you agree if I say people like to read stories about themselves and love to share stories with friends, family and acquaintances?  When my old folks told me about the past, I raised my brows.  It is because it's weird to compare how low prices during their time.  But now I realized that the story about it is true.  I already reached the point of comparing my past with the present.

However, I won't tell much about it with my children and grandchildren in the future.  I will show to them what they were doing and how they looked like.  I am just creating a keepsake for them.  Combining photographs, graphics, and text can create beautiful heirlooms to cherish, look, and read again and again.  And as the kids are big enough to hold the photo scrapbook, they are likely to become the most appreciative audience of this special keepsake.

Here's an additional scrapbook page I newly created.

TRANSITIONS

It's my honor to be the host of this week's photo theme- TRANSITIONS  in FSO.

"Our town has full of transitions.  Things are always changing and evolving.  Situations that seem stable and constant can change in an instant or over days, weeks, months or years.

I completely believe that photography and telling the story of transition while you are in it, or before or after you go through it- has a huge, positive impact.  When you embrace the opportunity to capture an event or a series of events, you're making layout memories to your own experience of transitions.  This is priceless and powerful."

Here's my photos of transitions:

created to be a srapbooking page

and become the a transition portrait scrapbook

I hope you enjoy the photo theme.  Thanks for participating guys.  Until next week!

KENT USHER

I really wanted to see myself in a photograph when I was a new-born baby but unfortunately I don't have any baby photos to prove that I was a cute baby too.  :-)  All babies are cute, don't you agree?

I am into scrapbooking ever since.  Most of the photo albums I have are my own photos.  I started making photo scrapbook exclusively for my nieces, nephews and grandchildren only this year.  I wanted them to remember me when they grow up.  It will be their remembrance of me and theirs- their cute moments and childhood memories. They are my inspiration to do their photo scrapbook

He is my 6th grandchild.  Oh no, Lolo!

Supplies I used:
*specialty white board
*crib is made of felt papers
*mosquito net is made of skein thread and a bead
*felt paper for the name tag
*colored paper for the birth date
*pens for the handwritten letters
