GOODBYE 2010, HELLO 2011

pagsulat sa journal kung sakaling manalo ang loo.  If not, ipagpatuloy ko pa rin ang pagsulat dito.  I love to write eh.

I will not try but I'll do.  May hiya pa naman ako.  Sa tuwing humihimgi ako ng solusyon sa aking problema, He always make a way.  Next year gusto ko ring i-accomplish yung double S- save and share.

I am excited to welcome the 2011 but there were good memories of 201o na gusto kong baonin. And most of them may mga sariling pamilya na.

MY NEW WORKPLACE

It's so tiring day!  We finally transferred to our new office.  It's more convenient but quite far from home.

Huhuhu yung mga boxes hindi naisegregate.  We had hard time to find our own boxes labeled with our names.

I chose this part to be my new place.  I need to fix my things from boxes to filing cabinet.

THE OVERNIGHT SOCIALITE & YUMMY CUP CAKES

Merry Christmas everyone!.  I spent the Christmas eve reading this kind of book.  It caught my attention and much time.  For the record, only this book I read from cover to cover.  Ms. Bridie Clark is really an amazing book writer. There are so much figure-of-speech lines and I love it like" the most adorable nose that money could buy".  I did not stop reading it yesterday afternoon until midnight. Kain lang ang pahinga

Tonight I need to rest for this event tomorrow.  Early to bed, early to rise mode muna ako.
I'll be attending the grand elementary alumni tomorrow.  Matanda na ko.  shhhh*T

RIBBON CHRISTMAS TREE AND CHRISTMAS PHOTO CARD

Most people traditionally associate ribbons only with gifts and bunches of flowers, but the most overwhelming choice of ribbons now available means that it is possible to find for every need, occasion, and taste.

I used ribbons as a Christmas tree card.

When you create your own greeting cards, you have the opportunity to add a personal touch.  I send holiday cards I make myself.  Moreover, incorporating photos into greeting cards is becoming more popular nowadays.

This is the Lizares mansion during Christmas season. It is full of lights. It is located in the city of Iloilo.

LET'S PAINT THE TOWN RED

It's not Valentine's day yet.  And I am not in love.  Don't be fooled by what you see.  RED symbolizes LOVE.  There's a Christmas song with the line, :Give love on Christmas day.  But it's not what this post all about.

It's nice to be back and join the photo challenge/sharing @ FSO.  I missed the previous photo subjects.  I have a busy life but I just can't let go because I love this group.

This week's photo subject is RED. I love the red color, it's my favorite color.

I love to use red ink and I love to draw red roses.

I like this red bag which I personally made.

I bought this red book last year

I like this red flower.

It's my favorite red cake!

My niece gave this red wallet as a gift from Singapore.

JOYS OF THE SEASON

Each year, as the days shorter and the air becomes crisp and cold, we prepare for the joyful season of Christmas.  It keeps us busier- putting up Christmas decors, buying and giving Christmas gifts, preparing foods for the Christmas parties and for the noche buena.  What else?  I am out of breath enumerating all od the holiday activities.

Whether you are home or away from home, you still feel the spirit of Christmas.  Wherever we are, it is to home our hearts travel.

Personally, I don't do or follow Christmas traditions.  hearing Christmas songs make me sad.  I don't display any Christmas decorations at home.  I don't give gifts and visit my family on Christmas day.  Yes, that's true.  I just give gifts after Christmas and to be with my family on New Year's eve.  But I always remember that Jesus was born on Christmas day.

Last Christmas, I was with a couple of friends.  We went to Tatlong Pulo.  This year, I don't know yet where to spend Christmas.  I don't usually plan my schedule.  It is remain flexible.

This is the 3rd chapter of Redlan's Book of Life.  In this chapter, I gonna share to you my Christmas joys.  I've watched the Social Network movie alone after the break up/separation.  Whatever it is in an open relationship.  Maybe I should say or the best line is "I QUIT".  Back then, after I watched the said movie I just knew that the founder of Facebook isMark Zuckerberg.  Stupid me.

All I know that Facebook plays a great role in my life.  It helps me finding my old friends from school.  I was able to reunite with them.  I recently found some of my Elementary classmates on Facebook.

Not only Jesus was born on Christmas.  Some of my family members celebrate their birthdays on this season too.  I tried to escape from work to attend the birthday party of my Apo out of town.  Both were successful- the escape and the celebration.  :-)

Although I am not into putting up Christmas decorations, I was able to make a Christmas tree card.  I got the idea from the magazine KJ sent to me last year.

I made a sample of an invitation card for my son's baptismal on December 28, 2010.  (Hala sige pa ng sige kahit binuking ka na sa FB.)
Lastly in this chapter of Christmas season, I won't share about one of the Christmas menu- the lechon but the pig fattening or ang pag-aalaga ng baboy as a small business I involved with.

I will share to you not the type of Christmas tree but the banana plantation which don't have candies or Christmas balls but fruits to eat and sell to earn a small profit.

That's all for this chapter.  I gonna end this post with a photo that brings a wish this season from my house to your house.

A ONE YEAR OLD CHILD WHO CAN WRITE A 'THANK YOU" NOTE

I never forget birthdays and special occasions.  I am a gift-giver.  I give personalized gifts if I have free time to do it myself.  Giving something that is personalized or something that you did yourself will be much appreciated.  Well, I am busy sometimes and I have no choice but buying gifts at the malls.  Material things are so easy, depending on the preferences of the celebrator.  Thoughtfulness need not cost anything much.  The effort you put into what you give beats buying stuff.  I remembered last June that I've had hard time to find something violet for Eta's birthday.  I went from one mall to the other.  I entered in every shop.  And finally decided and had the last choice to buy the violet slim-fit shirt at Bench.  I made to undress the mannequin because the shirt she wore was the last small size.  I felt so satisfied because I got the perfect birthday gift that I knew the celebrator like the color and would love to wear it.

For my grandchildren and godchildren, I buy clothes and toys.  There are a lot of choices to give that is.

The only compliment a gift-giver will receive is the "thank you".  And sometimes I surprise to read a thank you note especially if my inaanak is just one year old.

Actually it was her mother who wrote the thank you note.  Lol.  But still it made me smile.

THE GIFT AND HOW TO WRAP IT

I immediately grabbed these books at Booksale without hesitation.  At that moment I thought, it will be my congratulatory gift for Eta, my work mate and for Jirlie, my niece.  They are both pregnant and it will be a big help and guide for them pampering their first baby soon.

The next thing I did was gift-wrapping.  I know, personal gift-wrapping will give your gift that special personal touch.  Even if you use shop-bought paper, try to make each gift special by adding your own decoration.  I mastered a kind of dressing up a gift and I called it paper dress.  I got the idea from "The complete guide to Origami and Papercraft book".

The tools and materials are:

*glue
*specialty paper
*scissors
*buttons
*ruler
*cutter

1.  Wrap the book with blue specialty paper.

2.  measure the size of the book for the outer special paper to cover around.
3.  cut it with the cutter.

4.  Wrap lilac specialty paper around so that it meets at the center front, and turn back the corners for the lapels. Add buttons and a label.
this is for my niece, Jirlie.

this one is for Eta.  I used paper bag with the bib design and wrote the label.

You can wrap your own gifts too.

P.S.  I keep that one book for myself.  Mukha akong buntis ngayon and I expect to be due soon.  Kidding.  I don't know but I reserved it for the next pregnant woman.  Maybe it's you, just let me know.

I LOVE SARCEY, I LOVE FABRICE & LAURENT

I met Fabrice through postcrossing.  We agreed to exchange not only postcards but emails and snail mails too.  I amazed of his long emails and great ideas.  We shared much about our personal lives.  I printed all his email and keep it in a brown envelope.

Before he went to Paris for a business trip with his partner, he asked me what I want from Paris as a souvenir.  I told him I want the Eiffel Tower itself.  Of course I was kidding.  My only wish to have are falling leaves during Autumn.  To my surprise, he send this cute pink Eiffel Tower.  :-)  The color pink is the personal choice of Laurent.

He enclosed a personal letter plus the three postcards.

I got another parcel from Fabrice and Laurent.  They loved to surprise me!

I received a map of France

Of course another letter and a travel book.

And my wish was granted.  The Autumn leaves they picked up and pressed them on pages of newspapers.  I really appreciate the effort.

I inspired to make a leaf art.  I love Sarcey (the place where they live) and of course I love both Fabrice and Laurent.  Thanks so much guys!

THE PHOTO SCRAPBOOKLET

ILOILO is the home to hundreds of centuries-old Spanish colonial churches.  Built at the height of Spanish influence in the Philippines, these churches are a fusion of European and Asian architectural motifs.

I visited the churches myself and took photos as a souvenir before I went home.

I know Fabrice, a french online friend of mine, love churches so I made him a photo scrapbooklet of churches of Iloilo.

I got the idea from Martha Stewart's book I bought at National Book Store.

HOW TO OVERCOME THE BREAK UP AND HOW TO HEAL A BROKEN HEART?

Dating is the most exciting stage in a relationship which all the sweetest moments celebrated and all favorites of the dating couple shared to each other.  Sometimes there are arguments encountered yet they are able to adjust to one's differences.

I was kinda excited to share my dating one more time (Ala F4 theme song).    Unfortunately, the relationship was ended when I was about to share it.  Kung sa food, panis na.  Kakainin mo pa ba?  It's already expired!  To make it short, I am the one who decided to quit.

It's easy to build a relationship but it's hard to end it up.  Like, it's easy to say hello but it's hard to say goodbye.  The heartache of course I felt four times.  Knock, knock, knock knock at the door.  Who's there?  It's Redlan.

So that's it, I am not inspired to share the love any, ore.  But I can share how I overcome the break up and how I was able to heal my broken heart so quick.

During first week of separation/break up:

1.  I didn't listen to my favorite song "Pusong Ligaw" and all love songs.

2.  I didn't open the private photo album.

3.  I didn't think of the sweet moments we had (Ala My Amnesia Girl).

4.  I didn't go to the places we usually hang up.

5.  I didn't check my text messages stored.  Instead, I played games on my phone at night until I felt asleep.

And after a week:  I recovered and moved on.

1.  I ate at my favorite restaurants because I missed my favorite foods and watched movies alone.

2.  I gave space to think the sweet memories to treasure.  :-)

3.  I can read text messages especially this particular message,

"When reach home, you must take a rest.  I understand you're tired.  Sorry for sending a lot of messages.  I miss you badly."

I want to reply to that particular text but I preferred not to.  This will be my reply:

"I care about you but I care about my job.  You have a special someone now who cares you more. I never regret anything after all.  I got my part.  I got YOU."

You captured your kissing scene with your new :-P.  And I make it as my latest phone wallpaper
Pwede!  Ako pa.

THE POST IT DIARY

It's the last month of the year 2010.  We are busy packing not gifts but stuffs 'coz we gonna transfer in another place.

I bought new things and art materials as well.  I bought these stamping materials @ National Bookstore.  I have an art idea to test if it's effective for the year 2011.  Lol.

I also bought these colored pens to add more fun to my personal note, journal entry and scrapbook page.  It is part of my collection now.

Also I used my SM Advantage card to buy a ream of colored papers.

I cut them into small squares.

This is it!  I am making my own personal calendar/scrapbook journal/post it diary.  It makes me inspired to write more of my life's big events.

I started it today and hope to continue until next year.

Indeed, if you are single, you have time to think and do creative things.  You have time to love your own self. Just some of the advantages of being single.  Being in a relationship or having a family s another story.  :-)
