MEET THE MR. GUIMARAS 2010 CANDIDATES

Guimaras is an exotic province blessed with picturesque beaches, falls, springs and off shore islets.  The province is composed of five municipalities namely:

Buenavista

Jordan

Nueva Valencia

Sibunag

San Lorenzo

Each of the five municipalities has its own share of points of interest all guaranteed to make visitor's trip memorable.

Buenavista-  is scenic and historic.  Its wharf was built by Lt. McArthur in 1903 while on duty with the US Corps of Engineers.  Siete Pecados, Roca Encantada, are places with names phonetically fashioned by the sea.  The 45-hectare campus of the Good Sheperd's Fold Academy and Daliran Cave never fail to attract visitors and nature lovers

Jordan excites the senses with pleasurable promises of white sand beaches, marine gardens, coves and native cottages with good facilities at Natagong Beach, Isla Naburot and Baras Beach.  Balaan Bukid is a pilgrimage cum trekking site.  Calm and silent Monastery in the Philippines offers refuge to tired spirit for reflection and prayers.  "Ang pagtaltal sa Guimaras"- a lenten presentation premier crowd drawer every Good Friday.

Nueva Valencia-  like other municipalities in Guimaras delights an innumerable nature's blessings.  Not only are there a myriad for swimming, excursion, picnic, boating sites but some of the places are outstanding destinations.  Water is calm all year round at Alubihod Bay.  White sand beach, multi-colored corals, fish and other marine life are found in Igang and Tando Bays and Taklong Islets.  The rare red shrimps in Tiniguiban Islet may make appearance during high tide while you're there.  Rumagangrang and Cabalagnan Beaches and the offshore islands of Panobolon, Yato and Guiwanon are excellent areas for spearfishing, scuba and snorkeling.  Swim any hour of a fine day.


Sibunag and San Lorenzo are two new municipalities created in 1995 under RA 7896 and RA 7897 respectively.  Sibunag boasts its 1,067 hectares Bamboo Beach; the Costa Aguada Island Resort located at the crocodile shape Inampulugan Island and Nagarao Island Resort, a small tropical island at the southern tip of Guimaras, which offers a Visayan setting.

Each municipalities has candidates to represent the Mr. Guimaras 2010.  The said male pageant is the counterpart of the Miss Manggahan during the Manggahan Festival in the month of April.  Mr. Guimaras is not only a competition but it promotes Guimaras both to foreign and local visitors.  Aside from that, the candidates involved in clean and green campaign and other charitable works.

This year is the second year of Mr. Guimaras's success.

THE SHIRVEN HOTEL Part 1

Harry booked a hotel reservation online for us but I went ahead of him since the same day September 25, 2010, Kapuso's talent Jennelyn Mercado and company had a mall show in Iloilo City.  Not to mention Harry is the make up artist of the Kapuso Network here in Iloilo.

I arrived in the hotel passed 2:00 pm and welcomed by a pretty lady speaking in English.  Later, i knew her as Mrs. Joy Shirven. 

The staff guided me to the room I chose.

As I fixed my things, suddenly it rained hard.  I preferred to stay inside the room.  Despite of brownout, I was able to take a rest with AC and watched T.V.  Yes, generator is always ready.  And they have free Wi-Fi Internet connection.

I was partly sad though because I expected to watch a beautiful sunset in the spacious balcony. 

Yet, the rain stopped.  And I was able to take a couple of photos of the sunset before we went to the covered gym of San Miguel, Jordan, Guimaras wherein the said event is to be held.

PATADYONG FASHION

The most popular and still existing finished item of Iloilo's weaving industry is the patadyong or wrap-around because of its encompassing bearing and meaning in the life of the people.

The patadyong is more than just a garment as a skirt or wrap around for women.

It serves as an umbrella to protect one from the heat of the sun and the onslaught of the rain. It also serves as a towel and apron combined.

It can be used as a private nook by which one can change her attire. It also functions as a crib for the baby when hooked to a beam in the wall or the ceiling and can be used as a sling to carry the baby while walking or moving around.

Persoanlly, I have a patadyong boxers.  It's comfortable as cotton. 

THE INSPIRED COLOR COMBINATION

Aside from making scrapbooking of my family members particularly my nieces, nephews and grandchildren, I am also inspired to make other arts and crafts for them or inspired by them. 

This is my sweet little niece Angel Kate.  I like her and not to mention the dress she's wearing.  I like its color combination.

I made this latest mobile phone purse inspired from the color combination of her dress- the red and gray. 

THE KNITTING SHOWCASE

If you wonder what's going on with me these last days since you rarely saw me online posting plurk flooding messages, attending my farm on farm town and updating my 3 blogs, well don't ever think I have a new partner, busy doing my office work to death or what else you think.  I am just here sitting in silent.  Not watching my favorite teleseryes,  watching movies or reading books but I wanted to try knitting.  I don't know what I am doing this.  All I know is it's part of arts and crafts. 

I proved to myself that constant practice makes it not totally perfect but the best.  Even well known celebrities nowadays like Charice Pempengco, Sarah Geronimo and of course Maria Venus Raj came from a simple beginning.  I don't compare myself to them.  What I am trying to point is the determination.

It's for my own mobile phone.  It's best to use 4 ply yarn

Spell fuschia.  Pink na lang.

Pouch done more than a day.

A knitted bag for my camera.  It took 2 days to finish.  I need improvement still.

I just did this last night.  I like for I can hang it on my neck.

-Just enjoy the things you love to do.

PASSWORD-SHARING

Personally, I have lots of acquaintances but I only have few quality friends.   I can still count them not more than the total fingers and feet I have. I cherish my friends way back in high school.  I still keep in touch with them.  Though I am not the type who text and email or say hi in facebook often.  Somehow, I keep in touch. I understand because like me they have their own careers too.

One time, I was browsing my facebook account when my phone beeped.  I received an SMS message from Harry.  The message made me excite so much!  He told me that person I like on facebook was in a local photo shoot.  I admit, I am stalking this model on Facebook until now.  Lol.  I checked the person's account but the photos were only on the photographer's profile.  Unlucky, I can't see.  It is because the photographer's set his profile in private :-(  To my surprise, Harry voluntarily gave his password.  Whoot!

Actually, it was not the first time that my friends shared their password to me.  I remembered I had an online intimate friend who gave his password in order for me to hear his voice message for me. He gave his MSN messenger password too!  Another special friend did the same.  I feel uncomfortable though.  When it comes to Harry, we share almost everything- secrets and chit chat.  Still, I  feel so touched.  But the fact is I was that kinda eager to see the model I like in a sexy and wet pictorial.  Lmao.  I did tagging and sign out.

We continued talking at BOOK LATTE located at Robinson's side wing.  It's a library, lounge and cafe in one.

Trust is important in friendship.  If a friend have a trust in you, you will do the same.  You should not break the TRUST.  However, friendship can't be measured in sharing of passwords. Sharing password is not advisable especially when you receive an email for an account updates or you win a million pounds It's a scam! 

DA VINCE CODE BAND OF IDOL

I really can't wait and too excited to watch the pilot episode of IDOL- the much-awaited musical prime time soap.  Finally, it's tonight on ABS-CBN, Studio 23 and CinemaOne.  Yes, it will be shown on three channels (only it's premiere). 

I am pretty sure, it will be a hit because of the love triangle of Sam Milby, Coco Martin and Sarah Geronimo and hot as well because of the DA VINCE CODE Band.  I, myself, wanted to know the five members so I did search about them online.

Brothers:  DJ (left with a mole) and Micah (right) Lamar are from Lucena City.  They are sons of Christian missionaries who live in a farm ranch taking care of 40 orphans and written 30 original songs (and still counting).  They are under contract with MCA Music currently.

Mica Caldito (left), James Torres (middle), and Kyle Alndy Amor (right) are originally members of 3Am Band- the newest acoustic boy group in the country today.   3AM has done front acts to shows of fellow Cornetstone artist Big Band Crooner Richard Poon at the Central PLaza, Eastewood City.

Mica and James has played as a duo in the different schools in Metro Manila where they have received such overwhelming reception from the students.  On the other hand, Kyle is a sought-after print and TV commercial model.  He appeared in pages of various magazines and billboards of Loalde.  He appeared in commercials such as Nescafe and ABS-CBN Global's "Unlimitalk".

DJ & Micah Lamar, Mica Caldito, James Torres, and Kyle Amor are band mates of Sam Milby in IDOL.  Goodluck to them!

After he passed the CPA board exam and she already worked, I received a wedding invitation from the couple.

After two years, I received another invitation.  It was the christening of their first born baby boy.  His name is Leonard Danielle Hilapad.

This year, I received the third invitation.  It was the first birthday party of my godson, Dan-dan.

He is cute and grow fast!

He's with Mom. Dad is out of the country to secure Dan-dan's future.
